Hey fedizens, you wanna watch the Norwegian Consumer Council (a semi-independent state agency) launch an attack on enshittification? They're holding a lunch seminar in an hour (11:40 UTC) on their fresh report about enshittification and what must be done about it. It's called "Breaking free – Pathways to a fair technological future".https://www.forbrukerradet.no/siste-nytt/seminar-og-lansering-av-rapport-om-enshittification/They've got @pluralistic presenting digitally, and luckily for you and me they're open for online attendance. The venue is chock full in physical attendance. You can watch the stream anonymously. The digital policy director of the NCC, @finnmyrstad is on here, so I look forward to this report and event having some bite to it.#enshittification #fediverse #norway #policy #aDifferentWorldIsPossible #tech #decentralization

Kind of a superficial article but at least it mentions #Mastodon "independent alternatives such as US-owned Bluesky and German-developed Mastodon, whose feeds boast considerably less hate, misinformation, bot-generated content and AI slop, and whose followings are appreciable (about 1.5 million and 800,000 monthly active users, respectively)"The big issue I have is the phone apps. I'm intrigued by the alternative phone platforms but things like your banking app, #EV charging app etc will not work on non-ios/google systems. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/feb/26/how-to-replace-amazon-google-x-meta-apple-alternatives#enshittification #bigTech
