@lmc my grandparents met in a location very much like that second photo - he was a lifeguard in Santa Barbara and she was... a person enjoying the beach and eventually one of the lifeguards They had a lovely marriage that lasted longer than a lot of people live. Whenever I visit Santa Barbara I stop to check in with the beach.
