    Germany’s unconditional support for Israel has been an easy way to avoid examining our brutal past. The colossal weight of the ongoing genocide in Gaza is crushing our facile myths and forcing us to re-examine our historical dogma.

      @mondoweiss from an outsider perspective, it seems like you people just love a good genocide in service of the true master race and have been converted as per that true master race now being the Jews rather than German Aryans. But the lebensraum and rape and murder and moral impunity remain. It kind of makes it seem like you're just in it for love mass rape and death and you're happy to see a new team on the field maintaining your legacy.

        @Emerson61 @mondoweiss

        From my reading of this article I understood that we are ALL responsible. Although the author is focusing on Germans, there is a rise in fascism in many places at present. Germany does not stand alone, they sit within Europe, and have many partners globally.

        I don't think it's helpful to criticise the Germans without also walking with them on this journey, to support them, whilst also taking responsibility ourselves to combat growing facism in our corner of the world.
