Serious question, because 2026: What do you do instead of screaming into the void when screaming clearly isn't going to do to good gods-damned thing?

@StaceyCornelius@zeroes.ca Make art? It still won't fix anything, but you might feel a little better and if you show it to someone else, they might find a little joy in it too.

go for a walk and yell at trees.
note, do not alarm neighbours by yelling at trees in their front yard....do this in an isolated area

@SnowyCA Okay, that got a snort-laugh because neighbour demographics.
It's very dark and pouring rain, which makes it even more tempting.

@StaceyCornelius if you can’t scream in ‘em, join ‘em.

@StaceyCornelius I made cookies. Played video games. Read my kid a story. Took ethnic food staples and spices to the food bank for my immigrant neighbors. Planted a garden. Said something nice to someone who dialed my number instead of the one they meant to dial.
The only things you can do at this point are those that bring you or others joy. Lay a foundation now to make the world better eventually. And help others get through the void too!

@Moss Brilliant.

Screaming into the void was only ever meant to be a first step!
Get those excess emotions out of your body and your mind, so that you can do the work 🧤

️@dave Shoulda done that today. Went for a bike ride instead, because it was more efficient.
Yeah, I know.
Thanks, Dave.

@StaceyCornelius Silly answer: scream only at the hand-crafted, free-range, carbon neutral voids, not the regular voids.
Serious answer: take care of myself and look for non-void beauty that still (thankfully) exists, at least until the GOP notices it and decides to take it away from me. -

Genius.

Get outside and soak in some nature. Garden. Take my puppy for a walk. Read some fluffy fiction or listen to music that makes me happy. We’re living in constant chaos, so I try my best to calm my nervous system by doing something that makes me feel more balanced.

Excellent advice.
That's really my go to when stressed.
Walking in nature. Breathe, examine a flower, piece of moss, feel the rain/sunshine on my face... -

@KimberlyN That's brilliant. I miss my dogs, but have doggie pals on my local trail. Got some kisses from the sweetest cinnamon doodle variation girl today.
Sounds like you have an excellent strategy, thanks for sharing it.
Constant chaos sounds like a great big understatement, doesn't it.

indeed. It brings me back to a better perspective---
"Mother Nature" is truly the one who is in control of the world, not politicians. Spending time outdoors reminds me of that. -

@StaceyCornelius Go look for a waterfall. Find the sound of waves crashing on a shore. Find a space without mobile service (usually, woods!). Run.
My ideas

It does seem like a massive understatement. This timeline defies description most days.
