@mcourcel Doesn't have to be big for that. πŸ™‚

Here's a story you might enjoy. A good friend of my fellow was getting married on Vancouver Island, so we planned to go. So what to bring, that we can lug in our suitcases? After a lot of thought, fellow remembered something about elephants. He though friend loved elephants! So we bought a really nice, and expensive, china elephant, trunk up, of course, for luck. So we arrived to the island well before everyone else was expected for the...

@mcourcel ...parties. We rented a car to drive around the island for a few days. Vancouver Island has two main highways: one going north/south along the east coast; the other west/east through the island. Everything else is pretty much driving on dirt roads that the deforestation companies use. These roads get really dusty. Anyway, we spent time exploring, all the while with the elephant in the trunk with us. It went all round the island and when we lifter it out of the trunk, it left...

@mcourcel ...a dark patch, where it had protected the surface from all the dust. So...we now have a very well-travelled elephant to gift. It survived when the tires of the rental car didn't (another story). Finally the east coast friends and family arrive and we gather for a pre-marriage party. As folk are laughing and drinking, the subject of elephants came up. Apparently the part my fellow did not remember was the part of the friend's dad...

@mcourcel ...having collected so many elephants that they would make jokes about having to dust them and how said friend was traumatized enough to never want to see another elephant again. Fellow and I looked at each other....

The next morning we got up early to shop for another present and we took the elephant back home, where it now sits on a bookcase. We didn't tell the friend about it until years later. πŸ˜€
