    The Senate confirms DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin in a 54-45 vote, helped along by Democratic Senators John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, and Martin Heinrich of New Mexico.

    During his hearing, Mullin was criticized strongly by Republican Senator Rand Paul for often wanting to solve problems with violence — something Rand Paul did not think the DHS needed more of.

    Mullin replaces Kristi Noem, who was fired after the murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis.

    Markwayne Mullin confirmed as the next secretary of Homeland Security

    The Oklahoma Republican comes to the helm in the midst of a shutdown that has left some 100,000 of the department's more than a quarter-million employees working without pay.

      @randahl
      I feel sorry for Fettermans constituency...they got fucked good
      I'd be suing him for false representation.
      Or Fraudulent representation, whichever looks better on paper to a court.

          @randahl Good grief. America has become a totalitarian fascist country. It's horrible.

                @scheichsbeutel hell's bells, he thinks dueling is still part of conflict resolution. He's a violent ninny.
