    And now, in some quarters at least, we're the ones being blamed for overloading the system 🤷‍♀️

          @AutisticDoctorStruggles

          Exactly.

          I guess they never thought that people might identify with/see themselves in a category that was framed so negatively.

          System:
          "Don't people realise it's supposed to be imposed on them?" (Thinks this but then stays quiet, remembering one isn't allowed to say that - power dynamics must be unspoken to work).

          Funny that as soon as it's the prerogative of a marginalised group to identify with their label, it gets pulled. Strange, that 🤔

            @KatyElphinstone Anything to stop us from receiving the support and accommodations we need from NTs. It’s the same story with every disability - deny, dehumanise and deflect. 😒

              @AutisticDoctorStruggles
              Uuuugh, I despise the term so much.

              "Everyone's got some mental illness today" ... Well, congratulations on finding out that humanity severely mentally wounded at this point three generations of people (in majority of cases by "everyday life" which is unsustainable these days) and we have the knowledge to see that.

              Or another one of my "favourites":
              "I turned out just fine without any fancy diagnosis" ... Likely coming from someone who's either and abuser or has a really unhealthy relationship with some addictive substance to cope with the mess that's their untreated mental state.

                  @KatyElphinstone first make any type of support dependent on "official" diagnosis, then wonder why people get diagnosed. Can't make this shit up.
