@JessTheUnstill I like using DuckDuckGo for qr codes cuz it works on school PC's that I often have to use at my college clubs. `qr code <link>` drops out a png that encodes for just the link without any redirects. Proper QR codes are awesome, I hate redirect services.

I'll have to check out `qrencode` at some point too

@riverpunk It's a pretty handy little thing. For basic stuff it's just qrencode -o file.png https://example.com or whatever, but it's got a bunch of other flags to set things or change the size or whatever

@JessTheUnstill Huh til my distro has a command to make more of me, that's cool. (Legit didn't know, I used some random-ass website when I made the one that became my face.)

@SymTrkl It doesn't make "pretty" ones, but it's functional, and you can toss it into a shell script if you ever need a lot of them.

@JessTheUnstill I am the one who makes them pretty, once it's encoded I can just chuck the fucker in Krita.

@JessTheUnstill That is wrong on so many levels.

Also let me say that qrencode is standard issue on all my systems. For getting a URL from a borked system's manual page into my tablet so I can actually go to it it's very handy, and for that I use the -tASCIIi or -tANSI options to output the QR code right on the console.

@vonxylofon So you're going to trust a trillion dollar company whose literal revenue model is tracking people and sweeping up every drop of data they can ?!?

@JessTheUnstill Exactly. My point is that I don't trust Google Chrome with anything, for any reason.

... I hear only hackers use the command line, and I'd never trust a hacker ... 😄

Actually, used qrencode just a couple of hours ago.
