@ellie @TheDutchChief @Keab42 @Flamekebab @jsr Yeah. We had guests from Australia get stuck in England, one hop away from Amsterdam. And guests who had made it wondering how to get back home.
One person from Finland bought a cheap used car and drove, via Tallinn. Lots of impromptu adventures.
And about a quarter of the guests not making it to the event. That sort of thing tends to stick in your head.

@jsr I mean… right now, I very much want 2010–2015 back. Those few precious years were we thought intolerance was dead. No Trump in the White House, no Ukraine War; Germany, France, and UK didn't have neonazi parties dominating the elections, trans rights were making unprecedented progress and the massive misinformation campaigns weren't yet on the horizon, we got Obergefell v Hodges, Musk was just a cunt with a car company and GPTs were still cool nerd stuff and not world-destroying climate crisis engines yet…
Life was good in 2010, compared to today. I'd listen to a 2010 nostalgia song.

@jsr it was Summer of Sex Number, though, as much as it was about the particular year, or at least Adams was willing to express shtick to that effect:

I was watching the first men landing on the moon, on TV, in 1969. One of my earliest memories.2010 was like yesterday!
