Just reminding folks that the United States already did regime change in Iran . . . in 1953. The UK and the USA instigated a coup, overthrowing the government of the Prime Minister of Iran Mohammad Mosaddegh, because he wanted to nationalize the Iranian oil industry.
Mosaddegh gained office after democratically elected members of parliament chose him as prime minister.
The Shah monarchy installed by the UK/USA is what the Islamic Revolution overthrew.
