they might lack some experience and knowledge (which can be solved by teaching/explaining it to them) but they're not inherently stupid like the adultist patriarchal system likes to pretend.

The true reason minors can't meaningfully consent is that our current, adultist society does generally not respect a minor's "no", so it can't respect a "yes" either.

Minors don't get to decide whether to go to school, or which school to go to, or what they do in school. They don't get to decide how they spend their day basically.

Minors don't get to decide who to live with, they're pretty much forced to live with their parents unless the parents are so terrible that the government decides it instead.

Minors don't get to decide where they go. They always need their parents' permission, and depending on the jurisdiction they're not even allowed to go outside alone at all even if their parents would allow them to.

Minors are easy to abuse (in sexual and non sexual ways) by the adults in their life (parents, teachers…), because those adults can use so many leverages against them, like denying them access to their own property (phone, console), denying them permission to go outside or denying them outside contact, to coerce the minor into obedience.

And most governments' "solution" to these issues is piling even more disenfranchisement on minors. I hated being a third class citizen before my 18th birthday and I wish that future kids and teens won't have to endure that bullshit anymore.
