I initially said I wouldn't bother writing an abuse memoir. It's not as if there aren't loads of them out there already.

But it occurs to me that there don't seem to be very many of them written by people whose abuse resulted from sheer ineptitude rather than actual malice. And the thing is, for years I didn't really believe it was abuse because it wasn't malicious. Oh, but it was; and it really helped to acknowledge it as such.

So now I'm thinking, maybe there are other people in that situation. And if I write my own story, that could perhaps help them.
