@pixelate I wonder how they get away with that. I did like QuickEMU when I tried it a while ago, no idea how they got it to run that well.

@Bri What, running Windows? They just grab an ISO from Microsoft, they don't put in a product key or anything.

@Bri @pixelate I fucking love QEMU, in my very short-lived Linux days I used it with VirtManager.

@seedy60 @pixelate I wasn't a fan. The lag was astronomical when I used it that way.

@Bri @pixelate A Windows 10 VM (on a spinny drive) booted in literal seconds and was just a breeze to use.

@Bri @pixelate I guess it depends on your distro too.

@seedy60 @pixelate always Ubuntu. I've never had any luck installing anything else unfortunately.

@Bri @seedy60 @pixelate Out of curiosity have their installers gotten any better? Because last time I saw it which was when @zersiax tried to install it on stream he didn't have many flattering words to say about it. Which, considering all the installer said in turn was button button button was honestly fair.

@pitermach @seedy60 @pixelate @zersiax My favorite linux installer currently is Fedora's. It's a web app, and it's nice and simple.

@pitermach @Bri @seedy60 @pixelate Lol that "button button" page was also the accessibility options page, which made it even more amusingly terrible 🙂 that was the ubuntu installer at the time though, i've seen ones that are better

@pitermach @Bri @seedy60 @pixelate I think Fedora has a blind maintainer somewhere in the mix, and Elementary doesn't but has some good people who genuinely want to hear feedback
