@bikenite A8. Not cycling related, but a monarch butterfly landed on my favorite rose bush today! (I will be posting more #30DaysOfBiking later)

@ascentale @bikenite A8: Best I got is ... building a new way to get cables in and out of the attic? It's something ^_^

Attached: 3 images well that's not bad, now, is it? not perfect but I'm still rather pleased with it. the upper faceplate came off the conduit mounting plate because the included screws aren't long enough; instead of digging for longer screws, I just hotglued it on, but longer screws would've worked perfectly well. (The short ones _almost_ did, but they only got like two turns into the PLA and I wasn't trusting that.) anyway! enough unfinished atticrobatics. definitely substituted for my upper-body workout today xD #3dPrinting #conduit #AmateurRadio #AntennaCables

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8: Saw an S-Pedelec (European class for e-bikes running up to 45 km/h with pedal-assist) with its numberplate mounted sideways near the rear axle. I wonder if that's legal elsewhere, too.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. I took this photo at a local commuter train station to share with y’all. I’ve never actually shown up for one of these, because I’m retired and don’t take *anything* to work. Also, the hours are crazy early if you are retired. Apparently they’re doing just fine without my participation, given this is the 25th year. #BikeNite

            @ascentale @bikenite I'm pretty happy with it ^_^

I need to get a bit of rock wool or fireproof foam or something to be extra safe since it's in a ceiling but mostly I think it's good

              Oh, interesting!
              I haven't seen e-bikes requiring a number plate before!
We don't have a 45km/h class here (Ontario, Canada). There are e-bikes, which can be pedal-assist or manual throttle (I think still?) but only up to 32km/h, and they don't require a license for the vehicle or rider. Next above that is Limited Speed Motorcycle, with no difference between gas or electric, but governed to 70km/h. Needs license and insurance, for bike and rider.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. Butterflies! More #MonarchButterfly s in our garden. They do seem to be more prevalent the last few years, after years of trying to attract them, but never seeing any. I try to remember where I see them out riding and report them to https://journeynorth.org but sometimes I forget where I was and their website is not very mobile friendly. #BikeNite

While cycling this week I saw ephemeral wildflowers, in particular Marsh Marigolds and White Trout Lilies on the Douglas State Trail, and then Crabapple Trees in full blossom on the #RochMN city trails.
This is the best time of year for seeing wildflowers and flowering fruit or ornamental trees in this part of the world (Southeast Minnesota).

@ascentale @bikenite A8. There’s a little display of gnomes in a small park that I often bike through and they got some new decor for summer this week. It’s silly, but this little gnome village makes me smile every time I see it. #BikeNite

@ascentale @bikenite #bikenite #bikeTooter A8, We had a previously unheard of April forest fire blow up on the south side of Red Lodge Monday afternoon. Fortunately a snowstorm rolled in Thursday night and put it out. I have a feeling that this is going to be a long smoky summer.

@bikenite A8. Not cycling related, but a monarch butterfly landed on my favorite rose bush today! (I will be posting more #30DaysOfBiking later)

And our last question this week:

Q8. What did you see this week? Share a photo if you'd like. Cycling related or not is fine. Tell us about it!

(Also, it is Day 24 of #30DaysOfBiking)

Nothing really - did spot this completely unremarkable cleaning vehicle.

However, huge double take (for Londoners especially). It's a converted London Black cab and in all my life I think it's the first I have seen. They are normally driven into the ground until scrapping is the only option as they are very expensive pieces of kit.

I was in South Wales last week with my caving club. Let's ignore the trauma and bruising from the caving trip on the Saturday. I spent Sunday cycling along the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal. Lots of ducks, ducklings, canal boats, bluebells, and big hills. A lovely chilled day out.

@ascentale @bikenite A8: I went on my very first mountain bike ride yesterday! The borrowed bike with 29” tires felt huge, so it took me a few miles to feel comfortable—a challenging and exhilarating experience! I was surprised at how easy it was to climb hills, the gearing on these bikes is incredible. And the idea of not avoiding rocks and bumps in the path is a game changer.
