    @Pepijn @mosgaard and also perhaps a key feature of Mastodon.

    @alisynthesis @Pepijn luckily Mastodon is the perfect topic for most people… oh, it’s not?

      @anport @Pepijn it seems most distros comes preinstalled with this feature, and if the distro doesn’t have it, there is a good chance your Desktop Environment has a feature for it.

        One of the only problems I have with switching to Linux is that I want to talk about it all the time!

        And it's really not the perfect subject for all situations. Especially with people who would really like to not be confronted with the ethical perspectives of using big tech.

        I switched to Linux less than a year ago, so I just count on it soon being a new normal I don't need to sell to others all the time.

        ...But if they knew how well it works, then...

            @mosgaard as a 10 year+ linux (ab)user, I don't dream any more of converting others.

            I dream of never having to use a computer again and living on a goat farm

              @enoent that sounds perfect! I would need a stand alone sampler of some sorts, but otherwise I'm all in!

                  @enoent in that case I don't mind a little cheating to be able to create a little music.

                    I've been using Linux and free software generally since the 90s. Even though I want to, I try to avoid proselytizing. It comes up naturally in conversation when people complain about proprietary software and operating systems. I will tell them what software/OS I use and an honest assessment of what it is like to use. People don't seem to mind that and occasionally they will be inspired to look into it further.

                      @thezerobit it sounds like a good approach to wait until a related topic comes up, and them talk about own experiences. I'll try to remember that.
