@RaineyDay @ratking @munchkinbear You're welcome, edited to provide the direct link to the Q6Ultra. Q5Ultra is 96%, whereas the one you'd want in this case is the Q6Ultra with a 100% layout.

@RaineyDay Get the metal ones like the q6 max or Ultra. Yes, they're not cheap, but also yes, they're durable. Also, you can change the switches if you don't like them yourself without any issues.

@RaineyDay I bought and returned one a while ago, didn't like it. Having said that, it's as if you asked "has anyone here bought Nike shoes and, if you did, do you like them?". The opinion of other people is not particularly important for keyboards, just as it isn't particularly important for shoes. It's really impossible to know how you will like the keyboard, and that's the only important thing. I would suggest you buy with an ironclad return policy and be willing to return it if you don't like it. If you want specific features, such as multidevice/certain switches/wired/wireless, that's where advice may be of use, but key feel is extremely subjective, to the point where I, for example, hate what most other people like.

@rooktallon @RaineyDay Besides expense, they're also seriously heavy, in my experience. Not the best for portable use 🙂

@munchkinbear Ok, I might use AI to figure out which models have those six packs. I love how easy it is to find insert and such that way.

@RaineyDay @munchkinbear Careful using AI for that. Last year I decided to get a wireless keyboard that was different from my wireless keyboard of choice. I asked an AI if it had a num pad and the standardly-aranged six pack, and it assured me that it had both. Turns out it had neither.

@Bruce @munchkinbear Thank you so much Bruce. I'm using an artec wireless keyboard right now. AS much as I hate to part with it, because I really like it, I really want a mechanical. I guess I should just try it and see how I like it. A lot of people have said they don't like the artec, but I love it.

@techsinger I'm looking at these keychrons, and they're out of my price range. It's the only brand of mechanical keyboard I've heard of that is why I was asking. Maybe I should have asked what brand of mechanical keyboards people like, and why.

@RaineyDay @Bruce @munchkinbear Just to note that mechanical is not necessarily better. I have looked at several and they just don't suit me. It's all up to your usage and how you work.

@RaineyDay My sympathies. The only things I would avoid buying used are keyboards and batteries.

@RaineyDay @munchkinbear keychron k8 has the six-pack but no keypad. I think the k10 is full-sized. have a k8 and love mine. honestly you could just go to the keychron website. I use AI myself sometimes but be careful that it doesn't give you the wrong info

@RaineyDay I really like my q6 max. it is a full size keyboard with arrows and number pad.
