@JamminJerry @mew Oh goodness, yeah I'm gonna keep both of my phones. If I could just get a little data line for the S25, I could use google voice for the number. I just need data because when I leave for work, I have to clock in, and when I leave from work, I have to clock out. It kinda sucks but meh, they tell me what to do not the other way around. I really like using Braille though, because I'm basically wearing the input/output method. No need to put out the keyboard, pull out the earbuds, and them put them back in after I'm done. I think if I had a Mantis Q40 I’d be able to handle things better, although I’d still have to jigger Termux up to work with Braille better. But all I have is the NLS EReader, Humanware version. And work has no money to buy newer tech anymore cause government.
@pixelate me personally I don't read braille unless I have to as I am really slow at reading it. I always have been, and sometimes I even have reversals. that was what my teachers called it when I attended OSSB. I would mistake an I for an E, a D for an F, ETC. it didn't and doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that they noticed it when I was in school.

@mew @JamminJerry Yep, I'm just that terrible of a person.
@pixelate @mew @JamminJerry Nah, pronunciation dictionary is a basic thing and Talkback still doesn't have it. Let's add more stuff, but not deal with what people actually want.

@mcourcel To be completely fair though, apple is literally doing the exact same thing, re adding a bunch of shit and not taking note of what people actually want. @pixelate @JamminJerry

@mcourcel @pixelate @mew if you want my personal opinion, I think a pronouncation dictionary should be in the tts, and not the screen reader. different tts's will pronounce things differently so lets say my last name for example. JHicha. even before I try correcting it, different tts's pronounce it a bit different. if I were to tell talkback you pronounce it like Jeekuh, that is great, but eliquence might still pronounce it different than say vocalizer, and both of them might say it different than google tts. this is just my personal thoughts thoughl.

@JamminJerry I actually agree with Jerry here. @mcourcel @pixelate

@JamminJerry Or, if TalkBack is going to implement a dictionary, make it on a per engine/per voice basis. @mcourcel @pixelate

@JamminJerry @mcourcel @pixelate @mew Yeah, but isn't that waht some TTS do already? so more of them need to do this. Or am i not understanding you?

@mcourcel @mew @JamminJerry I mean I wouldn't mind if google just added the pronunciation dictionary to Google TTS. But Pulsar is this new up and coming screen reader that already has it so we'll see what happens. Closed source though so I can't hack on its Braille support with AI. Ah well, hopefully the dev has Braille.

@pixelate Ah, Pulsar is one I haven't heard of yet. I do like that Android has no shortage of screen reader options. With iOS you're kind of stuck with VoiceOver and that's it. @mcourcel @JamminJerry

@JamminJerry @mew @mcourcel Oh yeah, even the appleVis vision report card is looking awful these days.

@J3317 @JamminJerry @mcourcel @mew They should all do this. And codefactory needs to let me use the community dictionary. Shoot at least apple got that part right.

@pixelate I'd love to switch to Android myself personally, but literally the only thing keeping me from doing so is my current Android device has only 256 GB of storage and, Pixel pros are expensive baby! @JamminJerry @mcourcel

@pixelate Yeah, but I'd love to have been able to use my own eloq dictionary, not just a prechosen one by Apple. @J3317 @JamminJerry @mcourcel
