@ike @heidilifeldman I can tell you they're not going to Grand Rapids, MI because of its huge immigrant population. By percentage and raw numbers are there are far more immigrants in Metro Detroit. ICE chose GR because unlike Detroit it's compact and comparatively dense. A good place for a Minneapolis-style show of force. And with just enough ultra-conservative Dutch Reformed churches that they might even face less resistance.

@ike @heidilifeldman So many of these places are deep, deep red areas. Some, like Birmingham, have large numbers of black Americans.
I’m not following the logic for many of these cities.
