while away from social media I started this series on the history of early yuri games:

Part 1: The NEC PC-88/Sharp/MSX porn game era

Part 2: The 90s console era, aka "my long-ass analysis of Asellus/White Rose from SaGa Frontier"

some less polished blogging I also did this week:

      - This piece where I just ramble on why I never feel like looking at people's photos on the web, but I do want to look at them on geminispace
      https://wordsmith.social/overthinking-the-apocalypse/photos-on-the-web-photos-on-geminispace

      - This completely unfiltered piece I wrote late at night on dreams, sleep-adjacent hallucinatory/visionary experiences, and implications for plurality

while researching this I found a lot of sentiments like "aw I wish I could experience Akai Ito/Aoi Shiro but the translation is so clunky", or "I hope someday we get a localisation of Little Witch Parfeit". and I can just like. go and play them?? I'm not used to this, usually everything has an English version these days and all the niche stuff is universal now.

I think one reason I'm getting so invested in this topic is that it makes me feel my Japanese is still useful for *some*thing
