#bbclaurak says to Steve Reed, "Isn't it about time there was a vote in Parliament as to what the UK was doing?"

"There is no precedent for defending British people," he replies

"There was someone who wanted there to be a vote. His name was Keir Starmer. He very clearly said when he was running to be Lab Leader there will always be a vote on taking military action"*

*Starmer first pledged to introduce a "Prevention of Military Intervention Act" during his 2020 Labour leadership campaign

@Geri Another lie to add to the growing list of Starmer’s lies.

@HarriettMB yea, he swiftly withdrew this idea along with numerous other 'leftie' ideas once he was elected

@capnthommo @HarriettMB I don't if you recall the pledges he stood on - all good 'Corbyn' ones for continuity of 'the project'
