Shabana Mahmood is appealing the ruling on the proscription of Palestine Action;
either she has legal advice she can overturn the decision, or hope has triumphed over experience.
For those prosecuted (and in some cases locked up) for infringing the proscription through peaceful protest, this means they remain in limbo, although the Police will continue to pause arrests (although not evidence gathering) until the appeal is heard.

I think hope is triumphing over common sense: I really hope they haven’t nobbled enough of the judicial system to win this. It will be a dark day for the UK, and the end of anything resembling democracy if they do.

exactly; the police continue to gather evidence on people who are breaking the proscription.... just not arresting them at the moment
