    What's a good "scheduler" for Mastodon/Fediverse posts? Like I write 3-4 posts in advance, and schedule them ahead of time?

    @jerome as if there is an audience waiting. That is why someone took the time to write one.

      @jerome I use 2 options:

      • Buffer (https://buffer.com), which has pretty good Mastodon support. You can schedule an entire thread with it as well. The only limitation is that it doesn't really know about per-instance character limits, it limits you to 500 characters per post regardless of instance.

      • Phanpy (https://github.com/cheeaun/phanpy), an alternative Mastodon client which allows you to schedule posts right from the compose box. There is a little calendar icon under the compose box. I believe it uses the Mastodon server-side post scheduling API (https://github.com/cheeaun/phanpy/issues/188), so the scheduled post is just queued on your instance server, and will get sent even if the Phanpy client is closed.

        @jerome I use @moshidon android client, each post has scheduling option. It's not good for reading quote posts (yet) but maybe worthwhile for writing your posts?

          @deborahh @jerome tusky has this option as well. The scheduling itself is a Mastodon feature and happens on the server, so it doesn't matter if you're offline at the time the post should go online.

              @jerome if you're only interested in Mastodon (or other Fediverse platforms) and don't mind self hosting: fedisuite

                  This isn't twitter or linkedin where you can drive by spam your audience and expect them to be grateful.

                  It's a place that expects and rewards personal connections and a bot posting a marketing pitch is going to get ignored at best and irritate people at worst.

                    @jerome I've been using this free service for a while: https://plan.fedilab.app/

                    It uses the scheduling feature of your Mastodon server and does not rely on any external service. I consider that a win.

                      @jerome

                      Mastodon itself can do that. It's just not exposed in the web UI. So, use a Mastodon client that has an UI for it, like Tusky on Android.

                            @jerome very few clients implement this. I guess that's why nobody knows about it 🙂
