LED ring (gate style) with 552 WS2812 style LEDs by Andrews&Arnold Ltd on Tindie
LED ring (gate style) with 552 WS2812 style LEDs from Andrews&Arnold Ltd on Tindie
Tindie (www.tindie.com)
Sorry about the cost - the LEDs are cheap but there are 552 on each board... #WS2812 style, 3.3V to 5V.
3D models for the gate are on @Codeberg, as are @kicad PCBs to order yourself. All #opensource

@EndlessMason @kicad @Codeberg Watch the video, all done as LEDs.
New video soon, using the infinity mirror.

@EndlessMason @kicad @Codeberg Yeh, I have done some videos with sounds added. I don't have my hardware able to make dialling sounds (yet), maybe later.

@EndlessMason @kicad @Codeberg It is all a bit of interpretation for a non spinning gate.
I am happy to consider suggestions, but I quite like what I have, obviously.
The LED ring has full chevron LEDs for all positions though, so one can make it do what you like.

@EndlessMason @kicad @Codeberg Well yes, but I do sell them and give them to friends so worth trying to make it the best I can.
And all published open source as well.
Basically, pull requests and suggestions welcome.

@EndlessMason @kicad @Codeberg A tad big for that...
The LEDs are tiny, some at 1x1mm even now (I use 1.5x1.6mm ones).

@EndlessMason @kicad @Codeberg See https://www.tindie.com/products/revk/88-ws2812-led-ring-32mm-ironman-glove/ for a 32mm disk I do as well.
My latest design is 101 LEDs in same space.

@revk
For something like a watch, I guess I'd need a pcb of my own to avoid the chonky stackups of pin headers etc -
