I am just reading that Sydney Mardi Gras CEO Jesse Matheson has expelled Pride in Protest from the parade.

The issue stems from the group criticising another group for not being anti-genocide. They Pride in Protest claims the other group is actually pro-genocide.

This apparently all popped off late yesterday.

Just another reason for me to not want to participate or celebrate Mardi Gras.

@emmadavidson @CurbsideShip116 the problem is that the Mardi Gras isn't, and the '78ers on the committee have made it that way.

They expressly exclude trans people, and the name makes it clear it's not for people like me; it is the "Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras".

Having attended in the late 90's and early 2000's, that's always been the vibe
