We fought a war 250 years ago to get a King’s name off our laws.
Now, we have a President forcing his face onto our money just to brand the government like a hotel chain.
We didn’t trade a crown for a gold-plated ego. This is a Republic. Not a franchise.

@Strandjunker this should be engraved in stone

@Strandjunker I would suggest having an intervention for everyone you know who refused to vote for Kamala in the last election or Hillary in 2016.

In the long-distant past of the UK there was a moment where neolithic peoples had enough free time to build henges and other monumental undertakings that required considerable investment for those involved, suggesting that there was enough food to support numbers of individuals unable to contribute to the annual harvests for the duration of these projects.
At a certain point hill-forts start appearing, possibly initially to protect the communities they loomed over from raiders, but latterly coinciding with the construction of other labour-intensive prestige buildings, the communal slowly morphed into infrastructure for shoring up local warlords and sowing the seeds of "royal" lineage. And, and this is a personal interpretation, I believe there is a good argument to be made that the headway Christianity made into the UK had more to do with opportunists looking to add credence to claims of ownership on fiefs and tithes than anything. Buying God Tokens if you will.
Still - you don't have to go back thousands of years to see the same process. Around one hundred are enough. In 1920s Italy the combination of long-term penury and a general feeling of being cheated out of rightful dues saw a political chameleon take this same well-trodden path dressed up in the break-neck speed of Futurism and the power of Industry while harking back to the glories of Rome binding all to the haft of the axe used to cut them.
My point is - it doesn't matter who or what Trump is. If it wasn't him it would be some other amoral, venal type cunning enough to build their pyramid - Kennedy, Boebert, Rubio, Noem, Musk, Zuccerberg .... the space they fill is the result of over 40 years of pulling up the ladder to create a plutocracy. The Nobel awarded economic theory architect of the nightmare reality we are living in was intentionally toxic and was latched onto by the center-right in the US and Europe in the early 1970s as they looked on the rise of affluent and educated left-leaning populaces and saw a threat to their niche in society.
What the US is going through is regime change instigated by foreign interests and paid for by its own plutocrats who share a common vision. Seen countess times before where people are owned and live or die based on the whims of one (mono) or several (oligoi).

Even as a branding exercise, any association with Trump & MAGA billionaires is marketing disaster.

So, when will you do to your President what you did to the last King?
