People need to look at what Massachusetts did back in 2023, they raised taxes by 2 percent on people making 1 million dollars or more. And the residents of the state voted on it. They have been reaping 3 billion dollars a year ever since just from this alone. And guess what? There wasn't this mass exodus of rich people from the state. If these wealthy people want to uproot their lives for a 2-4 percent increase, let them, but we have data showing taxing the rich makes everybody more money in the long run. This isn't the only study. You can actually find them *everywhere* but https://ips-dc.org/report-wealth-expands-after-higher-state-taxes-on-high-income-earners/

The McLibel trial was the longest in English history. Despite the legal muscle of the corporation & infiltration by #spycops, the McLibel 2 won huge victories against McDonald's & burger culture. This post takes a look back on the 30th anniversary of the launch of the McSpotlight website: https://radicalhistorynetwork.blogspot.com/2026/02/celebrating-30th-anniversary-of.html #activism #mcdonalds #vegan #veganism #undercoverpolice #undercoverpolicing #workersrights

@infobeautiful@vis.social We should stop quoting the vaccinated rate and start quoting the unvaccinated rate. As in, the proportion of children unvaccinated has nearly doubled*, from 5% to 8%! Shock horror alarm. *In journalistic terms it's sort of ok to describe 8 as nearly twice 5.

@jd Well that is certainly a misogynist load of crap from Mehdi. I'm disappointed. Trump makes anyone look eloquent. AOC actually is quite a good speaker, and puts to shame most of the men currently holding power in the US.

The English-language edition of Wikipedia is blacklisting Archive.today after the controversial archive site was used to direct a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack against a blog. In course of discussing whether Archive.today should be deprecated because of the DDoS, Wikipedia editors discovered that the archive site altered snapshots of webpages to insert the name of the blogger who was targeted by the DDoS. The alterations were apparently fueled by a grudge against the blogger over a post that described how the Archive.today maintainer hid their identity behind several aliases. “There is consensus to immediately deprecate archive.today, and, as soon as practicable, add it to the spam blacklist (or create an edit filter that blocks adding new links), and remove all links to it,” stated an update today on Wikipedia’s Archive.today discussion. “There is a strong consensus that Wikipedia should not direct its readers towards a website that hijacks users’ computers to run a DDoS attack Additionally, evidence has been presented that archive.today’s operators have altered the content of archived pages, rendering it unreliable.” More than 695,000 links to Archive.today are distributed across 400,000 or so Wikipedia pages. The archive site is commonly used to bypass news paywalls, and the FBI has sought information on the site operator’s identity with a subpoena to domain registrar Tucows. “Those in favor of maintaining the status quo rested their arguments primarily on the utility of archive.today for verifiability,” said today’s Wikipedia update. “However, an analysis of existing links has shown that most of its uses can be replaced. Several editors started to work out implementation details during this RfC [request for comment] and the community should figure out how to efficiently remove links to archive.today.” The Wikipedia guidance points out that the Internet Archive and its website, Archive.org, are “uninvolved with and entirely separate from archive.today.” The Internet Archive is a nonprofit based in the US. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2026/02/wikipedia-bans-archive-today-after-site-executed-ddos-and-altered-web-captures/

https://youtu.be/SqeIoWuOjRY - 'France secretly used chemical weapons against independence fighters during the Algerian War. Newly evaluated archive material, eyewitnesses, and experts document the extent, background, and consequences of this warfare.
A little-known chapter of colonial violence: The French army secretly used chemical weapons against independence fighters during the Algerian War (1954-1962). Maps, documents, and eyewitness accounts from French and Algerian veterans document the dimension of this warfare, as well as the human suffering it caused.
Interviews with experts on nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons explain how military and political decision-makers organized these secret attacks. In addition to the torture and displacement of entire population groups, the use of chemical weapons constituted a huge breach of France's international obligations. Obligations France deliberately disregarded during its colonial war.
Step by step, the film reveals the impact of this warfare on Algeria’s land and people. The film illuminates both the historical events, and their current relevance.'
