    @sean_ae @janne808 Just for the record, the PiStorm cannot emulate the 2 meg chip ram needed by Quad Track, so you need to find an original memory extension for the Agnus trapdoor..

    Best solution is a 1200 (with PiStorm or other) but that combo can be anything from 700£ to 1300£. Unless of course you go for a A4000 for ~£2500-3000 😆

    @qebo @sean_ae Yes, only the later A500 revisions can do 2MB Chip RAM to begin with. A600 can do it if you can find one for a reasonable price.

          @Cognessence @sean_ae @elifyalvac @Rushup_Dee Ohhh right, yeah, I think I get the two wrongs bit now, maybe? I mean, just that B♭ figure – D-F-D-B♭-D – was crazily throwing me off, I kept hearing that first D as an E♭, which had been in the bass! Amazing stuff.

          @miblo @sean_ae @elifyalvac @Rushup_Dee I'm glad that that worked out for you!

          I should admit that I rarely think about these things consciously in playing, and found that in reading (in a search for higher-level examples that weren't just based on pure tone / sound stuff.) So respect to you for more deliberately trying it out!

          (After the fact of playing obviously you notice these things - patterns - and may investigate "why", but generally in the moment it is instinctive. 🙂 )

            @Cognessence @sean_ae @elifyalvac @Rushup_Dee Oh yeah, of course! By the way, that figure, with fresher ears and at half-speed, pretty sure I'm now hearing right as E♭-F-E♭-B♭-D. 🫣

              @Cognessence what else have you got there? I still play my 3DO Gog games although I had to pause that for a year or so now due to work commitments. But I always go back to Heroes of Might and Magic 2, and 3 is ofc amazing - My dad made a whole map for it. I need to translate that into english. Then there are the Might and Magic 6-7-8 series rpg versions. Oh no let’s not restart them now

                    @elifyalvac that’s quite a nice collection you have! Like you I haven’t actually played video games in years, really, despite still being interested in them…between work or music making and being on here there doesn’t to be as much time for it. 😄

                    I mainly have old point n click adventures, like the ‘Broken Sword’ series, ‘Grim Fandango’, ‘Monkey Island’, ‘Sam and Max’…most of them, actually; and more games I loved as a kid, like ‘MDK’, the ‘Worms’ series, ‘Little Big Adventure’, the ‘Creatures’ series. A couple of less old indie games like ‘Botanicular’ - those ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R’ games.

                    Am totally guilty of getting things on sale and never playing them too. 😬

                        @elifyalvac I hope so! They are due a replay. I think we’d enjoy the Monkey Islands a lot now in particular (which reminds me that we should try the remake - unless you already did.)

                        Games did used to inspire tracks for me at times. Did they for you? There was a bit in ‘Half Life 2’ where you’re under this suspension bridge. The atmosphere was really on point; a celebration of steel and rust…and out of the feeling wrote ‘In Suspension’.

                        But I kind of having a thing for certain bridges anyway. I mean those imposing, bare-steel ones that hide none of their brutality!

                          @Cognessence @elifyalvac on the subject of point n clicks, I'd highly recommend Thimbleweed Park, Ron Gilbert's comeback game. Monkey Island meets X-files & Twin Peaks. (Also great that he's active on Mastodon!)
