    Good Morning #Canada
    With Trump's visit to China, I thought it's a good day to read up on Canada’s diplomatic relations with our 2nd largest trading partner. We officially recognized China in 1909 and it has been a rocky relationship as that country embraced communism and then became a manufacturing behemoth and where we unfortunately outsourced our factories. Carney has slightly improved relations but they remain difficult to trade with.

      @PaulBusch
      China will always do - and protect - it's system of trade and manufacturing because it has a huge population to keep under control. The US and Canada barely signify. Most of what Amazon sells is made in China. Trump is not gong to change that. Neither is Carney. We can't compete with their factory labour. We can however, stop buying so much new mass market, cheap crap and look at second hand alternatives - yard sales and thrift stores. And seriously think about DIY.

        @PaulBusch
        If the democratic west could actually do cooperation and collusion instead of capitalist competition we would be much better able to deal with China.
