Whew, late night hauling angry bees. Stuck them in the back of the kid's old pickup truck, which was good, because they were escaping out a hole in the back of the lid and trying to sting. I think about 10 or 11 stings total involved in this whole operation (fortunately, none for me and nothing serious). Apparently Brazilian beekeepers in the 1950's are to blame, lol. #beekeeping

***queen was destroyed; we are giving them a chance to regenerate with a better queen (if we are lucky), as commercial Italian/other bees are not yet available, it's too early in the season for commercial queen availability. If they are not of cooler disposition (or even if they are) we may attempt a queen replacement in May of all of them to temper the gene pool here a bit.

@ai6yr Wait. So now the BEES are selecting aggressive, angry leaders as well? Will the spread of fascism never stop?

@ai6yr Also, tell me more about this strategy of destroying a queen and allowing a more rational leader to emerge. Sounds like it may have potential for broader application...

@Plumbert @ai6yr if the history of the Middle East is any indication, it works the opposite with humans.
