    @MartinH @pasci_lei @ironicbadger

    It seems like random Lenovo and Dell tiny PCs on eBay have better build quality...

    I even pulled a Kaby Lake Inspiron model that was left outside for years and it works fine still

        @ironicbadger well one (larger) is definite a cap - easy to replace or remove and leave as is. But the rightmost can be a resistor or inductor - need to know for sure and if so - need to know resistor value

              @ironicbadger Mine is pretty unstable too - it’s the i5-12600 version. I gave up on it.

                  @ironicbadger I have been skeptical of them given they push so much advertising for their product.

                    @xv8 one of those "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is" kinda feelings in the pit of my stomach right now.

                    1 year out of this box isn't what you expect from modern hardware at all.

                      @ironicbadger That is some impressive magic smoke. I have been wanting to switch to a Mini-PC of some kind for my proxmox host but the Minisforum, Beelink, GMKtec's of the world do scare me with lack of repairability compared to the Dell, HP or Lenovo MicroPC’s.

                        @ironicbadger oh crumbs. I have a pair that run active-active for my homelab. This does not fill me with confidence!

                          @ironicbadger It's a shame because I did consider it and it looked like really good hardware to replace my power-hungry Mac Pro 2012 that I use as a Proxmox host. 300w on idle really does a number on the electricity bill and I had two of them in a two-node cluster. Total consumption was about 14% of my total household consumption. 😬
