My cats really like sleeping on my bad ankle. I assume they can sense it, just like how Spiegel knows how to step on my tits for maximum pain, and chooses to do so

They've piled themselves onto my legs, which is cute except my ankle hurts and they're 26 lbs combined. I'd have insomnia regardless but they aren't helping

@giflian I had a lad who always targetted my bad knee and would semi cripple in the night stomping on my leg. Supervisor liks lying between my legs and just rides it out if I turn over. She does like to alternate and sleep on my pillow, partially on my face. Do not recommend.

@giflian I had two cats at one point, and they both slept on the same side of me, slowly and gently pushing me to the outside of the bed. One night I awoke to find I had put one foot on the floor in an attempt to stop myself falling down (or honouring the Hollywood Morals Code, or something). I carefully reinserted myself in the bed linen, with the cats on the outside of my torso. I awoke with the alarm to find they had once again decided to push me toward the edge.

They truly wanted me out of their bed. Yet, I provided warmth.

          Cats are daft.

@IanAMartin I wouldn't call that daft. Them slowly pushing you to the side maximized their space but still allowed them to access your heat. If you'd fallen off the bed entirely you would've woken up and got back into bed. No downsides from their end.

I only had one cat a time, before the shitheads. And they're both much bigger than my previous cats.

I've shifted and now Spiegel has taken over the pillow and is purring. Glad someone's happy

Both cats are back on the legs. Sando trilled his please-wash-me-I'm-forever-kitten at Spig who proceeded to wash him. Now I'm waiting to see if they start wrestling, which is usually what this becomes. Maybe not though.

For years I've wanted them to cuddle me when I slept but they're so much

@giflian So ‘rude and thoughtless, but opportunistic.’

Right. I should have seen that.
