Like, feminizing HRT doesn't make a person start behaving like a woman, or have them magically start giving off feminine vibes out of the blue.

What it looks like it actually does, is more like finally let them drop the veil of fake masculinity and slowly release their repressed inner (feminine) selves as their body starts to reflect the person they are.

The energy, the vibes, the real, unfiltered behaviour, were always that of a woman, the signs were there from the start if you knew where to look

@ciara side-effect may include one of the most beautiful things I know; how the light of life, slowly returns to a trans person's eyes as they get to transition

@iamada Absolutely. I stopped policing myself. Nobody told me to keep feminine behaviors hidden, I just did it.
One of the schoolmates who bullied me back then apologized sincerely at a BBQ party and said "there was something different with you, we didn't know what, but it was enough to make you a target."

My go-to example is hanging a shopping basket in the crook of my arm, like a handbag. It's easier to carry, the basket doesn't smash into your knee and you still have nearly both hands free.
And yet I avoided it. Because "that looks embarrassing for a man."

@iamada@tech.lgbt I'm not sure whether it's HRT, or just someone allowing herself to be more feminine and exploring who she is. I am certainly noticing this effect, even before HRT. Seeing my body change will probably help though

Fun fact: I saw something similar a long time ago with someone when he came out as gay, and quickly started acting a lot more like the stereotype. People were wondering why we was acting like that, and I quickly figured "what if he was hiding this part of himself and didn't feel safe to act 'gay' before coming out". Zero reflection on what kinds of behavior I was repressing myself, though
