I brought the laundry in earlier and met a young tuxedo cat on our stairs. I don't know which of us was most startled.

Said cat headed at high speed towards the kitchen door that they'd crept in through, but I'd closed it (as I knew there was a young and inquisitive tuxedo cat around ).

Cue the cat climbing the kitchen units to get away from me (scattering the houseplants and trying to push through a closed window) while I get the door open then usher it out. It then skedaddled.
