Umm, sorry for suddenly exclaiming, “Hieratic!” and pumping the air, kitties. It’s just that I’m planning a Bingo Card (lovingly) for the Adam Dalgliesh mysteries by P.D. James, and that word, just used in this final book in the series, is one of the lead contenders for the free square at the middle.
