Q1: Hello fellow dishcloths*! Tell us what you’ve been doing this week.

A1: Hello! Two things last weekend! Look at me doing stuff!

Attached: 2 images Finally got round to sorting out the stand for the railway clock I made. Not exactly how I planned it, but it works. You can’t see most of it anyway! #MakersHour #woodwork #metalwork #railway

Attached: 4 images Worked on another railway signal lamp today. This one is dated 1942 and is taller and wider than the others I have. It’s unusual too as it has a square carousel holding the coloured glass. Others have a round carousel. It was mainly a clean up job with some polishing of the brass bits, some soldering to repair part of the carousel and some rust treatment. Oh, I also replaced the orange glass as it had a chunk missing. I happened to have some orange glass in my spares box, so I just had to cut that down by about 5mm. #MakersHour #restoration #railway

      Excellent!

Those red lit lamps look quite eerie.

The peopling was all pleasant, I must add. Just a lot of it.

Nothing much planned for the weekend, so hopefully we'll just get on with clearing, and have a bit of down time.

@suearcher @MakersHour Walls are underrated. So many people just lean on them or take them for granted. Not round here, we celebrate them!

@MakersHour hi, Maaike here. This week I've been doing largely the same as last week: stitching on my biro shirt for the 100 day project, knitting a sock (still the same sock). I also did a little weaving project for my textile art challenge, and some light embroidery.

By the way, in Dutch there's an expression 'weak as a dishcloth' for feeling under the weather, so this seems like a very appropriate term of endearment for some makers this week 🙂 I hope you all feel better soon!

I have heard that socks take a lot of work and effort, so not surprised you are still on the same sock.

@MakersHour Well, according to my mum socks are a nice and quick project that takes about one evening per sock 😅 My one sock has taken three months so far...
It's not even really that difficult, I just get bored after a few rounds and switch to something else.
