    #p2p so no self-hosting required theoretically and no making different accounts on each new rocketchat server, "over tor" so something something privacy but who knows, slack-style experience with grouped channels per "server".

    interested to see where this goes in the next years, wish it was ready today to leave discord

      i am gonna have to write a "you dont understand discord" blog post as a reply to everyone who is suggesting stuff like putting multiple telegram groupchats in a folder as a replacement

          @powersource its extremely minimal on features but if the base is solid a lot of the missing stuff is fairly straight forward to add i think? i also didnt look at all into the networking/discovery part yet, they gotta have some kind of caching-only nodes or always on servers to make the service feel good

                @abuseofnotation am i wrong in thinking zulip is very similar to rocketchat in terms of self-hosting and one account per server? like it's not a federated model where users can sign up once and then join other servers transparently right?
