I'm all in favour of going back to messageboards and IRC, but you know how I am.

@nev I have an account (which I will let quietly lapse), but I only ever used it to chat with my daughter when she played Minecraft and chatted with her Minecraft friends on it. (I think my daughter had to help me set it up: its notion of "server" is different than Mastodon's.)
