@Thayer YAY! See you there!!
@dpk wahoooo!

#emfcamp people! I am coming this year for the first time, and solo. What ONE tip (seriously just one) would you give someone coming, and read the ones before so there's no doubles. If you like a tip from someone else just fave it and I'll know it's most awesome, dude.
@Thayer yay!
Get stuck in and sign up for a volunteer shift or two!
It's a great way to feel like you're part of the event and not just on the perifery... you'll also get tips from the people you're volunteering with about what they're excited about seeing!

@Thayer Don't feel like you need to spend all your time in talks - barring mishaps most of them go online later, and ones that specifically won't be recorded are marked on the timetable so you can prioritise them.
Take some time to wander around site and check out the rest of the activities and games people set up as well. -

@Thayer wooooo!
FOMO is real even when you are there. Remember that your body and mind have limits - don't try do everything.
See you there

@Thayer Don't plan your time too rigidly, leave plenty of time to just wander around and discover random serendipity. Most of the talks are recorded watch them at home on the sofa.
Workshops fill up FAST though so if you really want to make something book that in -

@Thayer bring a plastic bag to keep your change of clothes dry in the showers. They're normally good, but in the past there hasn't been a place to leave them where they wouldn't get wet.
And we're going to be going out of our way to help first-timers at the event this time! Please give feedback!

@threedaymonk @Thayer I think sleep is optional tbh! I arrived at the last emfcamp totally exhausted and drained, hardly slept but left energised

@Thayer take a power lead 30 metre min with a 16 Amp commando connection as very few 13 Amp sockets available and have great time!

@Thayer I’m giving two, but wearing different hats:
With my volunteer lead hat on: Pick up a volunteer shift or two (they’ll be available on the website), it’s what makes the event work, also it’s genuinely fun hanging out with people you wouldn’t otherwise while maybe learning a new skill.
With my long time attendee hat on: Don’t fill your schedule for the weekend, leave big gaps to just do whatever takes your fancy or chat shit with whoever happens to be in the bar.

@Thayer they had a huge information board people could post stuff on last time. My daughter and I used that to find our next side quests. This is stuff that isn’t on an online planner etc, just something cool that someone has built or brought that they’d like people to see. (And it had memes on it, so many memes)

@Thayer bring longer power and network cables than you think you'll need.... 15m isn't very far in a field full of hackers....
