Plex is great as a music player. I've got my audio files on an ancient Mac mini, and I can access them anywhere, at home and away: phone, laptop, iPad, TV, car. Plex is not great as a high-level overview of a music collection. Is there something good to run in parallel?

@disquiet curious about Plex: can you make playlists that you can access anywhere, or is it just access to the full collection, and you hunt and peck?

@c_reider Yeah, playlists are available from any device that runs the Plex app (Mac, Win, Linux, Android, iOS).

@disquiet i think i've heard some dissatisfaction with where they're trending towards over the last few years, i believe there's some open source solutions in some state of usefulness, Jellyfin i know & maybe some others? can't say i've used any. curious to hear any suggestions for similar things, my current solution/s are not great.
