Trump now wants other countries to take care of the Strait of Hormuz. As I predicted 12 days ago [1]. Such an obvious development. Though I didn't think he would go as far as giving Putin free reign to make money with crude oil.

Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the country has not "asked for a ceasefire" after Trump said it had wanted a deal.

Occurred to me that it is all very well for Trump to say that there's no embargo on Russian oil, but nobody else lifted _their_ embargoes on it.

So while the USA is digging itself into deeper holes in the pinchpoint of the Gulf, the navies of other countries would do better to replace American naval ships (in units and in functions) elsewhere than to join in that debacle.
