@BruceMirken@mas.to Have a good friend who is a retired Chief Science Officer for a big pharma company. He says the entire FDA/Industry process for drug approvals has been destroyed resulting in a 50 (yes 50!, half a century!) setback to worldwide drug development. And it will never recover, because now trust is wrecked. Other nations will try to fill the void, but they need to build everything from scratch. The US was the only game in town for safe drug R&D, and it is simply gone.

Scary side note. The whole FDA refusing to review Moderna vaccine thing from a few weeks ago may have roots in them actually not having the ability any longer to conduct such an approval process. Let that sink in.
