@EUCommission in general good direction but it's not enough...
- push for using actual open source and open standards as much as possible (especially in public institutions! and no, 'docx' being ISO standard doesn't count)
- push for OS being open (block google recent attempt at strongholding Android; support local Android favors and AOSP so no bank, or even your own wallet, requires Play Services or Store) -
@EUCommission "Cloud" based computing are not environmental good with servers running 24/7/365 ! We need much more European open-source software to work OFF-line !

I might be wrong, but I think that a serverless infrastructure is better than everyone running their own personal server and that still needs a common cloud to work with.I'm totally with you about the need of more open-source that run in our local environments. We have very powerful tools in our hands and most of the time it only connects to cloud and most people barely use the power of it just because of this.

I might be wrong, but I think that a serverless infrastructure is better than everyone running their own personal server and that still needs a common cloud to work with.I'm totally with you about the need of more open-source that run in our local environments. We have very powerful tools in our hands and most of the time it only connects to cloud and most people barely use the power of it just because of this.

Does that mean you are investing our money in a project you are not sure will actually come to fruition?
Or has someone been trying to intimidate you into desisting?
Perhaps we should know about it if that is the case. -
apart from EU Cloud, please discourage use of USA tracker like googletagmanager
I've seen it even in Italy's public health's website, where people book medical examinations and quite accurate hints on individual health may be inferred!EU independence and digital sovereignty needs more awareness, even in website design and development.

It would be a good practice for all the EU countries to frown upon tracker, specially foreign ones.
And yes, I did report the issue to the dpo of the health website.

@EUCommission What if instead we prioritise local solutions where all the software runs on local hardware, and all the data is stored locally? Maybe some cloud storage for offsite backups, but that's that. And everything end-to-end encrypted so that nobody but the owner of the data can decrypt it.
