What is happening in Iran remains largely invisible to the world.

Israeli-American airstrikes are hitting Tehran and locations across the country. The scale is reportedly larger and more widespread than the 2003 Iraq invasion or the 1991 Kuwait campaign. But the Iranian regime has banned all international media, creating an information blackout.

Only fragments emerge from opposition sources and ordinary Iranians. The country's enormous size disperses the visible impact of the strikes. The media blackout slows the flow. Together, they hide the full scope of what is actually happening.

The information trickles out slowly. But it suggests a military campaign far larger than public discourse acknowledges.
