i think i kinda put together some of what's hurt, and why i've been despairing. i mean yes there is also the pile of US news which, as a US resident, hasn't helped, but really it's this: AI is an attack on the joy of creation. under the AI peddler viewpoint, creation is exclusively about the end result. there is no room there for the human joy of making, or the human joy of sharing, or the human joy of experiencing.
and it hit me more recently because the AI attacks on coding and on personal computing are attacks on my _own_ human joy of creating software in particular. -

@pikhq i get asked a lot about why i work on some of my pet projects, especially because i hang out in online communities with lots of infosec nerds who wanna criticize my choices of tools or whatever. telling them im using
$softwarebecause it's fun catches them off guard soooo often -
