    For some reason my microwave will let you set its power level to zero. I guess just in case you want to slowly spin a bowl around with a fan going??

        @megmac Some microwaves will let you program a sequence of different times & power levels (e.g., defrost then cook). There is often a way to include extra timers with power off (e.g., to let something cool but then get a reminder bing about it).

        Now, I don't know anyone who actually uses the complex programming option on their microwave, but maybe this was the intended purpose of being able to set it to 0% power for X minutes?
