    I need a password manager. Needs to work on #Debian #Linux, #Firefox, #Chrome, #Android, #Windows, sync between systems.

    Work suggests #KeyPassXC or #Bitwarden, any thoughts?

    @drajt can’t go wrong with either tbh. Bitwarden would be more straightforward to setup.

        @drajt I use NordPass. Plugins for the browsers and desktop clients on #linux and #Windows Don't really use the Windows client that much to be honest as I prefer GNU/Linux outside of work. The Android App is quite reliable. The sync between them all is flawless.

            I've used Bitwarden for many years. No complaints, web app, desktop app, and browser app works great for me.

              @drajt

              If you can run a webserver somewhere reliable, run Vaultwarden, the open-source implementation of Bitwarden.

              If that's not an option for you, keepassxc with Syncthing or similar to keep the database available everywhere you need it.

                @drajt I use Bitwarden across various WIndows and Android. Pain free. Work and Perso verions. Not felt the need to change

                  @drajt gopass, if you can live with a less awesome Android app. But KeePassXC is lovely as well.

                    @frehi @drajt

                    Same for me, except I sync using Nextcloud (because history but I should change that).

                    I have no windows to sync to so can't say for that part...

                      @drajt Bitwarden is secure, easy to use, supports sync and has features that others don't like emergency access. There is a free plan as well as the option to host it yourself.
