    #AskingAutistics

    How would you describe your ordinary daily level of anxiety (if any at all)?

    #Autism #ActuallyAutistic #Neurodivergent #AuDHD

      @KatyElphinstone Reding your post I’m wondering is this possible to be autistic and to NOT be anxious? I am hoping that it is possible for some us. ❤️

      But I am wondering now what would the differences for AuDHD? And should I had answered to your question being #AuDHD?

      So many rhetorical questions! 🤣The only official anxiety disorder I have is “unspecified anxiety“, as autistic anxiety is not, yet (?), in the DSM5. 🤷🏼‍♀️

        @adelinej

        I had somebody replying to this question saying that he doesn't feel anxiety at all, but rather feels intense rage if anybody touches any of his intricate and important systems.

        Which made me wonder about the connection between lack of control and anxiety. My own answer to this question was, all my life, "basically terrified"...

        I was blown about like a leaf on the wind. Only recently I've found some stability. And I'd say, now "only a little."

            @KatyElphinstone I am not diagnosing this person but the rage described could be an expression of anxiety based on what I have read about anxiety.

            I’ve very recently found some stability being finally in menopause, after many years of suffering with perimenopause symptoms and excruciating roller coaster anxiety. This is why I haven’t choose for your question the basically terrified answer, but the stage just before.

              @KatyElphinstone I ticked "a litle bit, usually" which is my state now. Until a few months ago it was "basically terrified" and had been since age 11 (I'm 58). A year ago I had some sessions with a psychologist, then a few months ago I did some #psilocybin microdosing, and now I take #rhodiola daily, and I think these 3 things combined are responsible for the change. I feel I'm living again.

                @KatyElphinstone basically terrified, but some days I am better at avoiding letting myself notice that.
                Like all the fears are still there, but some days I am able to kinda put a layer over them letting me pretend I don’t hear them - and that way avoid ruminating them in my consciousness, but that doesn’t mean they stop dominating the unconscious
