    Now it happened again.
I opened Signal and had two messages there from a few minutes earlier but no notification in GrapheneOS.

It has worked for a few days but now again suddenly I didn't get any notification.

I've had this problem on multiple different Pixels with GrapheneOS during the years.

Not only signal but also other apps like Element (matrix).

The phone does not have data saving mode or battery saving mode enabled.

Both Signal app and Google Play Services have unrestricted background usage enabled.

    Am I missing something?

@arutaz Have you tried the Molly app from Accrescent? IIRC it uses its own notification service instead of Google Play services, and also has other improvements over the vanilla Signal app.

@tpaau17db it seems molly still uses google unless you set it up to use a UnifiedPush-server.
So not I need to figure out how to selfhost one of those I guess?

@arutaz Did you install Signal before or after you installed Google play services?
If after I would suggest to delete both and enable play services first.
