    I love Express Mode, especially when visiting a new city and I can just tap to ride the metro, bus or tram.

    In general, cities aren't very proactive at advertising when it's supported. Ads might say you can 'tap and ride' or use contactless, but rarely mention Express Mode (formerly Express Transit Mode).

    As a project, I’ve been building a site to document which cities support this, and which do not:

      This project currently focuses on cities that are popular with tourists, and gives precedent to cities with a subway or metro over places with only buses.

      I have also selfishly included more cities that I have visited or have direct knowledge of. Though some cities I have had to rely on research from local transit authorities and rely on what they say.

        I'd love it if you could check your city (if it's listed) and particularly note if I have the correct flag for "Express Transit Mode" (✅supported or ❌ not) or any other detail.

        There's a corrections link on the site, but feel free to just send feedback here if easier.

        And if you have a city with both support for both contactless AND express mode and it's not listed, do let me know. Those take priority over cities with just Apple Wallet, or other app-based tickets.

              @jeremyburge Lyon does support Express Transit Mode! They even have a support page for it on the transit authority's website: https://www.tcl.fr/assistance/tcl-carte-bancaire/a-quoi-sert-le-mode-express-de-mon-smartphone-apple

              News article covering when it first rolled out: https://www.macg.co/mobilites/2022/12/apple-pay-transport-express-est-active-sur-les-transports-en-commun-lyonnais-133305

                  @jeremyburge

                  Ottawa: Contactless (Interac, Visa, Mastercard) includes Apple Pay. I’m not sure for Google or Samsung Pay.
                  Physical Presto card, no digital Presto card.
