It's disappointing that the fastest, most reliable way I've found to send a funny meme to my wife from Linux is:

    1. Copy Image
    2. Switch to or launch Signal
    3. Paste into a "Note to Self" in Signal and send
    3. Open Signal on iPhone
    4. Share

    It had better be funny.

KDE Connect is great, when it connects. LocalSend hardly ever sees the other device. Convincing her to use a different messaging app is a non-starter.

@jbaty KDE Connect. Ugh. It was working fine and I loved not picking up the phone for texting but one day it just stopped and won't connect even though both devices can see each other. I had the same experience with LocalSend. It wont see the other device but is completely fine sending files over a url and approve devices that way.

@michaelharley It would be a tough sell. And it's not just her. Nearly everyone I know uses Messages and that's it. I'm working on it 🙂

@jbaty Yeah I definitely get it. thankfully, my wife and close family i text a lot joined me on signal. i have some friends who have not but I just won't 'text' them as often. 😉
